Do you have a passion for science and research? Are you enthusiastic and energetic? Do you have two hours spare a fortnight? Consider volunteering in the Telethon Kids Discovery Centre!
Our volunteers play one of the most important roles in our Discovery Centre – they help kids play and understand the games. They are educators, entertainers and sometimes dictionaries. All the games in the Centre are linked to the research being done by the Institute so as volunteers you’ll probably learn something too!
No day will be the same in the Discovery Centre. From opening the doors and checking the games are working to showing kids how to use a pipette or helping run our Discovery Centre + schools program, the days will change depending on your visitors or the planned activities in the Centre.
Volunteers are required to provide a resume, a copy of an up-to-date Working with Children Check, a police clearance (received within the last three months) and a documentation which shows you are a permanent resident of Australia.
In addition, as you will be working in a hospital you will be asked to complete mandatory blood test.
